What it involvesRuislip Village and the High Street
Ruislip began as a farming village, and the old centre around Manor Farm and St Martin's Parish Church is still there. Hillingdon Council made that medieval core the Ruislip Village Conservation Area in 1969. It was extended in 1973, then again in 2008 to take in the High Street and some of the residential streets to the south-west.
The later streets followed the railway, which reached Ruislip in 1904. According to the council's conservation area leaflet, King's College ran a competition in 1908 for a Garden Suburb plan. Only part of it was built, but the council credits its Garden Suburb principles with the area's high architectural quality and its spacious, green feel. The High Street is lined with shop parades from the 1920s and 30s, and the Local Plan counts Ruislip as one of Hillingdon's five district centres.
For cleaning, what matters is the mix: Garden Suburb houses on one street, flats above the High Street shops on the next, each with its own checklist. A regular domestic clean every week or fortnight covers the kitchen, bathrooms, floors and dusting. If a house needs more than that, a deep clean goes after limescale, grease and the spots a regular visit skips.
Manor Farm, the Lido and the woods
22 acres
Manor Farm
The size of the Manor Farm site, according to Hillingdon Council.
The council lists the Tudor Manor Farm House, the Great Barn and Manor Farm Library on the site. You can walk in from the High Street, St Martin's Approach, Pinn Way or Bury Street. The council calls the Great Barn one of the oldest timber framed buildings of its type, and its history page says King's College, Cambridge built the farmhouse around 1500 and was lord of the manor from 1451 to 1932.
On Reservoir Road (HA4 7TY), the Lido sits inside Ruislip Woods National Nature Reserve, which the council describes as the largest block of ancient, semi-natural woodland in Greater London. The lake was made by damming a valley and was filling with water by the end of 1811. You can't swim in it. The council's Lido page also lists the Ruislip Lido Railway, and the Woodlands Centre there runs nature walks in the woods.
If your weekends involve muddy boots coming back from the woods or the Lido, tell us when you ask for a quote. We can put extra time on the hallway and entrance floors.
Ruislip Manor's 1930s streets
Ruislip Manor grew up around its station. Hillingdon's local history pages say the Metropolitan Railway opened a halt there in 1912, George Ball built his Manor Homes estate between 1933 and 1939, and a new station went up in 1938. The Local Plan treats it as a minor centre, and the council's Ruislip Manor Library is on Linden Avenue, HA4 8TW.
An extension or loft conversion changes how long a clean takes, so mention either one along with the number of bedrooms and bathrooms when you ask for a price.
South Ruislip, Ruislip Gardens and West Ruislip
South Ruislip is a local centre in the Local Plan. The Victoria Road and Stonefield Way area is one of the borough's three Preferred Industrial Locations, and South Ruislip Library is on Victoria Road, HA4 0JE. Five stations carry the Ruislip name, and TfL lists them like this:
| Station | Line(s) | Zone |
|---|---|---|
| Ruislip | Metropolitan, Piccadilly | 6 |
| Ruislip Manor | Metropolitan, Piccadilly | 6 |
| South Ruislip | Central | 5 |
| Ruislip Gardens | Central | 5 |
| West Ruislip | Central | 6 |
The Local Plan notes that South Ruislip and West Ruislip also have rail services.
We clean houses and flats around all three stations. If you run a small office or unit near Victoria Road, the office cleaning page explains what an out-of-hours commercial clean covers.
Moving out, letting and building work
If you're leaving a rented home in Ruislip, book an end of tenancy clean, which is built around the check-out inspection. Our Uxbridge end of tenancy guide covers deposit deductions and Hillingdon Council's bulky waste collections. Bulky waste is a borough service, so the same rules apply in HA4. Landlords with a gap between tenants can read about cleaning for landlords.
When the builders have gone, after builders cleaning deals with the fine dust they leave.
Crystal Clear Cleans works in Ruislip and across the London Borough of Hillingdon, including Uxbridge. The areas we cover page lists every town with its own page.
